Refunds – The IRS set its bar really low this year by repeatedly telling us that refunds would take longer due to budget cuts or whatever. They liked saying 3-4 weeks a lot! Well I’m happy to report that after 2 weeks, most of our clients are getting their refunds in 8-13 days like prior years. Here’s hoping this holds through tax season!
Scam Warning – The IRS has again issued a scam warning. They will never initiate contact with a tax payer by phone or email, though it seems some states may. As always, if in doubt, contact us before sharing your personal information with anyone no matter how convincing they sound.
New Preparer – We’re very happy to have a new face at Tax Facts this year! Tracey, our new Senior Tax Preparer, has been preparing taxes for many years and we’re already quite impressed with her knowledge. Penny has been doing the work of 3 people for years now, so Tracey is a welcome addition to our staff that can help take some of the load off Penny and our other preparers who keep telling me there are only so many hours in a day (whiners!).
